A wonderful pair of Antique Swallow earrings from the late Victorian era. Both earrings depict the birds in flight, one swooping up and the other down. They’re studded with lustrous Pearls and red Paste eyes.
Swallows are known to mate for life and therefore symbolise love and faithfulness. The image of a swallow was popular during the Victorian era and was often gifted as a romantic token.
The earrings are fashioned in 9ct Yellow Gold with hook wires. They’re a wonderful set and very individual.
